I trained in minimal access surgery as a Registrar in
Guildford under the tutorship of Professor Chris Sutton,
and subsequently undertook a research project into the
side-effects of pelvic cancer surgery based at St George’s
Hospital and the Hammersmith Hospital, which culminated
in my MD thesis from the University of London.
I spent two years in Southampton and Portsmouth on a Macmillan
funded sub-specialty training fellowship in gynaecological
oncology. I was subsequently appointed as the first Consultant
in Gynaecological Oncology at The Royal Surrey County
Hospital in 2002. This is an NHS regional cancer network
post with sessions at East Surrey and Crawley Hospitals.
I am currently both the Chairman of the Gynaecological
Tumour Group and a Clinical Director of the SWSH Cancer
Network.
I am married with three children and live near Dorking
in Surrey.
I undertake private practice at the Guilford Nuffield
Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital and BUPA Gatwick Park
Hospital.
I have considerable experience in surgical gynaecology
for benign and malignant disease. My principal areas of
expertise are in gynaecological cancer care and colposcopy,
laparoscopic and minimal access surgical techniques and
the treatment of endometriosis and fibroids.
